Reselling is the process of finding used goods, buying them at a low enough price, and reselling them online for a profit. It starts with sourcing items from thrift stores, garage sales, estate sales, clearance racks, or local marketplaces. Successful resellers look for products with steady demand, recognizable brands, good condition, and enough margin to cover fees, shipping, and time.

After buying, the work shifts to cleaning, testing, photographing, and researching each item so it can be listed accurately. Strong listings usually include clear photos, honest condition notes, keywords buyers would search for, and competitive pricing based on similar sold items.

Once listed on platforms like eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark, or Mercari, sellers manage questions, offers, packing, shipping, and returns. The best resellers stay organized, track costs and profits, and learn which categories move fastest. In short, reselling turns secondhand goods into online inventory by combining bargain buying, market research, and efficient selling.

It can be an exciting and fulfilling job when done with a positive attitude and enthusiasm. You get to shop around, visit different shops and towns, and meet people from all walks of life. There may be certain times, though, when the daily drag can get you down - especially if you have a sudden spat of returns and you're feeling overwhelmed.

Reselling isn't an easy job, but it can be a rewarding one. Give it a try - start out small, just an item at a time. Sell on eBay at first until you're used to the process, and then you can test out other online venues.

Good luck, and happy selling ;-)
